Project Details

This cabana was not only built as a convenient entertainment area between the owners 19th century house and modern pool inside Morrisons Bay, but also as a guest house and show piece for the owners to enjoy.

Located half way down a large (1750m2) but steep block a fair distance from the street, concrete slab with piers were formed by way of line pump for good stability. As all items had to be carried by hand, lightweight materials such as timber stud walls clad with cement rendered blue board, metal roofing and polished timber floors were used for a beautiful warm finish.

An extensive amount of commercial grade aluminum panels were installed to maximise natural light and take full advantage of the amazing water views. The timber veneer joinery making up the storage cupboards, sitting area and kitchen also concealed a pull out bed and entry to a full size limestone tiled bathroom.
